Maltitol is a polyol (sugar alcohol) and
mostly known as a low calorie sugar-like
tasting sweetener.
It has about 90% of
sweetness of sugar and nearly identical
taste properties. Recommendation is
made for diets of people with Diabetes
concerns and those under a weight
control program, as it does not raise
the blood sugar and insulin levels.
